Finding Aids

This collection contains items from The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois.
The Field Museum inspires curiosity about life on Earth while exploring how the world came to be and how we can make it a better place. Founded in 1893 as the Columbian Museum of Chicago, the Museum has spent more than 120 years in the pursuit of scientific knowledge about the world around us.

The Field Museum Library is committed to supporting the Museum’s mission as an educational and research institution concerned with diversity and relationships in nature and among cultures. The strengths of the Library collections closely parallel the strengths of the Museum’s scientific collections in the fields of anthropology, botany, geology, paleontology and zoology. The collections emphasize biological systematics, evolutionary biology, geology, archaeology, ethnology and material culture.
